A season that had been widely anticipated for years finally came to us — and it disappointed us more than just about any other season. Honestly, there’s not much to recommend Global All Stars as a viewing experience. The challenges were rote and a poor fit for an international cast. The judging was extremely biased toward the queens Ru knew coming in, and despite the advantage, two of those queens (Kitty Scott-Claus and Kween Kong) nonetheless took every chance to belittle their non-RuGirl competition. Getting to know queens like Nehellenia, Soa De Muse, and Vanity Vain had its pleasures, and I’ll never turn away more time with Pythia — though she was sent home far too soon. But even Alyssa Edwards ultimate crowning couldn’t salvage such an underwhelming season.
