In an increasingly noisy Drag Race landscape, what could Canada’s Drag Race do to stand out from the crowd? Invite in a Golden Beaver, that’s what. For Canada’s Drag Race Season 4, showrunner Trevor Boris and his production team brought in a major disruption to the typical Drag Race format by giving each maxi-challenge winner the chance to save one of the bottom three queens. The twist not only worked practically on a game level, but also produced some of the best drama we’ve ever seen on the show thanks to big personalities like Melinda Verga, Nearah Nuff, and Aimee Yonce Shennel. The season ultimately came down to two likable, hard-working queens, and in the end, Venus edged out the win over runner-up Aurora Matrix.
