Baby, you can’t beat the doll! Or can you? That’s the question All Stars 9 raised by season’s end, as Roxxxy Andrews’ grand return for this non-elimination season took on the air of an inevitable fourth crown for Season 5’s top three. Her rivalry with Season 14 alumna Angeria Paris VanMicheals entertained fans all season long, while impressive performances from queens like Season 11’s Plastique Tiara and Season 14’s Jorgeous kept the competition interesting. But in the end, it was Roxxxy vs. Angeria in the finale (with Vanessa Vanjie a lovely second-alternate) — and in a twist, Angeria took it home. It was a better season than its reputation reflected during the season, but the incomprehensible edit led to a deserving winner getting an unsatisfying crowning.
