All Stars 6 is the season Drag Race has desperately needed. Filled to the brim with second-chance queens determined to make an impression, the resulting season was an unconditional home run. It demonstrated that All Stars as a format still has juice, and redeemed the Lip Sync Assassin twist after its janky introduction in All Stars 5. Most impressive of all was how production largely got out of the show’s way this season — yeah, there were some arbitrary wins, and sure, it felt a little too convenient to watch Eureka! come back into the competition. But Kylie Sonique Love and Ra’Jah O’Hara, two former 9th-placers, were able to find their own way to the very end, with Kylie taking the crown over Eureka!, Ra’Jah, and Ginger Minj. Throw in redemption for queens like Trinity K. Bonet, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, and even LSA Laganja Estranja, and you have a small miracle of a season.
