The best thing you can say for All Stars 5 is that it ends tremendously well. The top three of MIz Cracker, Jujubee, and winner Shea Coulée is one of the strongest final trios the show has ever featured — even if Cracker did feel like a bit of an also-ran to the two fan favorites. And other queens made solid showings for themselves, like Alexis Mateo and wild card competitor India Ferrah. Those two’s drama in the Snatch Game of Love episode was also a season highlight. Other than those moments, though, All Stars 5 couldn’t help but feel perfunctory a lot of the time. The drama was there, but the stakes weren’t. Did anyone really care if India did or didn’t call Derrick Barry’s partner a “pig in a wig”? In the end, the season felt like a bit of a coronation march for Shea, but she more than put in the work to deserve it by the end.
